uses Eduroam software which requires a bit more sophisticated
configuration. In Network Manager this can be easily set but how could

My problem wasn't really gone even for a while, sorry for misinformation
- I just forgot that I added compiz --replace and nautilus commands to
Startup Applications manually... I disabled them and logged to xterm
session; log file attached.
Don't worry about these "Connection failed, reconnecting.
BTW, after invoking gnome-session process I suffer from bug 276017 as
well (as during the usual boot up).

removing PulseAudio helps (otherwise You don't have true ALSA but only
PA's ALSA emulation which supports only ~ 70% of ALSA specs). And ALSA

On my 4-year-old notebook on Hardy "Reading database" used to go fast.
Now I have Core2 Duo P8600 (2,4 GHz) and on Karmic it goes slowly with
steps 5%-sized, maybe 3 such steps per second. What takes so much time?
It was faster in the past...
On the other side, I don't get why apt in Ubuntu still
This dpkg-related bug isn't actually what we're talking about. Sure, it
causes apt to be slower than it could be but it still doesn't explain
Karmic regression here.

There is no special information to provide. It's just a fact that cdrkit
packages are illegally distributed (by creating illegal links named
cdrecord etc.) and is even so flawed that if you install original
cdrtools, they will keep replacing its executables.

You mean the 'Uncategorized Videos', right? That's where they belong
until they are categorized (automatically if possible) as a Movie or TV-
Show.
