Also happens on tooltips for me: on fullscreen they're visible, else
they show and then disappear after a fraction of a second. Try for
example http://www.xkcd.com/, over the comics image.

firefox - pointer blinking when over a link

Still happening. Very annoying since it blocks the whole application for
30+ seconds to do some kind of network check when you click on the
printer connected to a shutted down host. No window repaint happens, and
the whole application is unusable, leading the user to try and close the
window (think
Confirming also for my pretty standard Intel AC'97 integrated sound card.
Some applications heavily affected:
* wesnoth
* scummvm
* dosbox
* firefox (e.g. on youtube.com) using swfdec
* pretty much anything using SDL or ALSA directly.

That is pulseaudio running as a system process. Shouldn't be running as

It's usually unadvisable to run pulse system-wide.

Not sure if a normal user should edit default.pa just to have a simple

Public bug reported:
Since a couple of days, in Jaunty, logging into Xorg always brings my numlock
on.
Problem is, I've got a laptop, so the numeric pad is overimposed to some normal
keys (u-i-o-p-j-k-l-m).
I cannot disable the numlock inside X for some strange reason; hitting

Daniel: thanks, but changing fragment size and fragment duration in
daemon.conf do not fix the issue (I tried many different values, but
with no success).
I still believe this to be a bug, since it started happening really
recently (two weeks or so) and only in Jaunty, on a really common
soundcard
I can confirm this also for me; it's more than a month I'm affected by this and
it's very annoying.
Also, some other widgets are anti-aliased in a strange way; for example some
web pages are rendered badly, or some widget borders flicker.
More irritatingly, these artifacts change when you type,

None that I know of; however, it happens almost *everytime* here, both
through an update that triggers a hal restart, and restarting hal
manually.
There are some (few) times that the crash doesn't happen when restarting
hal, but let's say that I do hit it 90% of the times.
Is there some more info
I'll attach here also the crash file I got with symbols installed.
This bug is easily reproducible if you just type "/etc/init.d/hal force-reload"
while NetworkManager is alive and connected.
