In addition I also do not see the gnome splash during login. Sometimes
I get no desktop at all when trying to log in. Oddly, it seems to work
every time if I perform the following steps:

When trying to install Gutsy Tribe 1 the screen goes black after the
usplash status screen. The system is booting fine as I can hear the
login sound effects and the system is usable if I ctrl-alt-f1. lspci -v

If I replace /etc/X11/xorg.conf with the xorg.conf file from my Feisty
install and then kill off the X process (restarting gdm does not work) I
can get X to load. However, the fonts are tiny and my touchpad
scrolling does not work. Attached is the xorg.conf file that works for
me under Feisty and
Last post for now. Attached is the Xorg.0.log file for the semi-working
xorg.conf file. Lines of interest:

Yeah I figured that it had something to do with that. I knew it was a
monitor issue and not vid card or gdm/X wouldn't have even started. I
haven't had time to manually set it up yet. As I said though, it worked
with my xorg.conf file from my working Feisty install and my Monitor
section just sa

After upgrading to Feisty I occasionally get a message stating that
there was a problem with suspend and Ubuntu was not able to enter
suspend mode. However, I get this message after resuming from suspend.
So suspend is working but something thinks it's failing. This does not

fresh Edgy install and suspend worked nicely. I then wiped the system
clean and installed Feisty and suspend does not work for me. HP nw8240
just as stated above. I have tried by closing lid and manually putting
it into suspend
