I just updated my karmic kernel to whatever is the latest as of June 20,
2009 and now my computer is continuously trying to read from my floppy
drive.
It produces a constant "clicking" from the floppy drive (presumably as
the drive keeps moving). Note: there is no floppy disk

problem in the python interpreter.
I wanted to list all of the python modules. Normally, I do this by

Even though I don't have a 64-bit processor, I've answered this problem
on IRC and through lp questions enough times to know that it is true.
Marking as high because it wipes out an entire range of potential users
for Entertainer. According to an upstream comment from Emmanuele Bassi,

I have attempted to replicate the bug on an up-to-date Jaunty machine

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I did manage to overcome this
problem by using Firefox 3.5. So I guess it was a Firefox problem that
will be resolved in Karmic (which will include Firefox 3.5).

Hmm... nevermind, it looks like this is a duplicate of Bug 508452.
However, I couldn't tell when I was submitting because 508452 does seem
that similar. Looking at the duplicates of the bug helped me see that

I just checked what would happen if I switched to "Normal" Visual
Effects. After making the switch, the System Monitor window started
painting properly again (so did Gnome Do) which leads me to conclude
that this may be metacity bug because I know that "Normal" uses Compiz.
