This is an intermittant problem and is happening on a couple of
machines.
The internet connection is ADSL, into a netgear router/modem and an eth cable
going into the machine. However, I'm not sure that's relevant as the connection
seems to stay up and fairly stable all the

8.10 and am seeing this problem when I "apt-cdrom add".
This server never connects to the internet (corporate lan), and all the

A workaround for me was to use gconf-editor to set
/apps/metacity/general/action_double_click_titlebar (and
I can confirm this, it's been around since alpha1 or alpha2 at least.
Ctrl-L / refresh/ reset also works to fix it.
Compiz is turned off, so that's presumably not the cause.
It happens after every couple of commands, and happens every time I'm in
an xterm.

I can also confirm this in Karmic. For me it doesn't happen on all
images resized with css, resizing an image dynamically shows at some
widths it shows the border and at others not. Possibly to do with sub-
