picture I attached a few days ago was taken after booting from a live CD
(well, pen drive). If I install nvidia-current the screen goes
completely black, but it can be corrected by adding "intel_iommu=off" to

www.alsa-project.com and follow David Henningsson instructions in the thread I
mentioned earlier:
go to node 0x14, and make sure connection 0x17 is selected
After selecting connection 0x17, the internal mic start

I have a Toshiba Qosmio X500 with an Intel HDA sound card with the Conexant
CX20583 (Pebble HSF).
After installing HDAAnalizer.py and after changing the connection from 0x23 to
0x17, the internal mic started to work.

Thanks for that info. I removed linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.35-23-generic,
followed instructions on provided link to install alsa and rebooted the
computer.
The problem still remains: the internal mic is not working. Any ideas?

was to bring up the interfaces and running dhclient from the command

For those of you with Nvidia cards having this problem: if you feel like
giving it a try I solved it by doing two things, but I am not sure if
the combination of both gave me the solution or just the last one:
I first installed Michael Kuhn ppa and upgraded the system:

The software center has a "mixed" behavior when a theme is used in the desktop
(for example gnomish dark).

Firefox should override web pages settings for text box or anything that
involves the user typing text.
Ideally it should use the theme's settings *everywhere*, and avoid situations
like a white font on white background or black font on black or dark
backgrounds.

I forgot to mention the theme I have installed is GnomishDark and not
only the text boxes are a problem, sometimes other places are
problematic too: like trying to attach a file to a bug report in this
very same web page. The space where the text of the attached file should
be shown is white: white

I don't know if this is useful, but I am experiencing the blank screen + moving
cursor + high CPU ussage + locked keyboard problem.
I am running 12.04 AMD64 with propietary Nvidia graphic drivers.
Suspend and Resume work FINE if I use Unity 2D or Gnome Classic (no effects).
It does show the prob
I noticed the status of this bug is still Incomplete. What else should I

blank screen after installing nvidia-current in
I couldn't install the nvidia-current drivers in the pendrive due to
size restrictions (1Gb). I will buy a 4Gb one, do install nvidia-current
drivers and report back. I do hope this problem is solved before Precise
is released, cause it affected Ubuntu since Maverick and the problem is
still there.
Well, I managed to install the nvidia-current package but the problem persists.
Until this release, that would have solved the problem, but this is not the
case anymore...
I am willing to help to debug and solve the problem.
