Basically, tried to put my workstation to suspend. It seems it went to
suspend. However, when using the front switch to resume from suspend,
the screen went black and did not come up from suspend. A hard reset was
needed to revive the machine. Of course and kernel crash report

Trying to run 5.1 audio and not sound was coming from rear speakers. I
did went to the Pulse device config and confirmed that 5.1 profile is
used and when I tried to test the speakers, no sound are coming from RL
and RR speakers, center, left and right and sub are working fine

I was running 2.6.38 RC2, I reverted to 2.6.37 RC6 and the surround
sound is working perfectly! All channles are working fine under .37
