Hello Pedro. Here's the backtrace you asked for. Are you using an AMD64
or 32 bits distro ? Did you enable the aforementioned plugin ? Here, it
occurs everytime, even from the CD (AMD64).
I'm gonna check whether it also happens from the i386 CD as well in an
hour or so.

Here is an important additional piece of information :
it turned out that :
- when choosing in the PulseAudio mixer the Logitech Webcam as audio input
source (instead of the internal line-in), Cheese doesn't hang anymore
- HOWEVER : the first video is recorded properly but if I record 2 videos
I think this bugreport should only focus the 1st issue. Can someone
change the bug description ? It should rather be :
"Cheese hangs when recording a video when the audio input is not set to
the Webcam microphone"

I was about to report this. This is a REALLY tricky bug but I now manage
to reproduce it within 30 seconds...
1) open totem
2) play a music file (please use the (public domain) Amiga .mod files I will
attach below, for some reason, I manage to reproduce the problem more easily
with those -- but

- "to unlock the mouse" you actually have to kill the nautilus process from the
text console. This way you don't need to restart the X server.

Indeed, it's happened for several Ubuntu releases already : only when
Compiz is enabled (and thus, Unity as well as it's a Compiz plugin), and
apparently only with Nvidia cards (proprietary driver).

- Install VDPAU / VA
- start VLC
- enable experimental hardware decoding
- play any video file
