In the previous bug-reports there are some similar to this, but non of
them applied directly to my problem as fare as I can tell.
I have moved from a Windows XP installation to a dual-boot Windows XP
and Ubuntu 8.04 installation. In order to

Solved the problem. It was due to me FAT32 being mounted "late" after
adding the mount to /etc/fstab Thunderbird works perfect and .parentlock
is removed as expected.

Same problem have been identified on a Toshiba NB200-10Z (Same at NB205
- just with Scandinavian Keybord).
