Public bug reported:
With Dell Latitude D505 running Lucid, the system hangs completely when
X.org is supposed to start with 2.6.32-21-generic kernel. With
2.6.32-20-generic it starts up fine. Newer kernel works with recovery
console, but trying to start gdm there hangs the same way. When the

I hit this with my Thinkpad X60 as well. Neither killing compiz nor
gnome-screensaver solves it, only restarting lightdm will do. I'll have
the dstack script when this happens again so I can get the stack trace
for you.

Here's the dstack output for gnome-screensaver as well. I can't
distinguish by these outputs which of them is the culprit. Hopefully
these help figure it out though.

I did get the black screen after resume today, but this was the first
time after the xserver-xorg-video-intel update. It used to do this way
more often.

I'm not sure what happened, but I noticed my CPU fan humming loudly. I
checked with top and noticed that colord used 100% CPU. After a couple
of minutes I grew impatient and just killed it. I haven't noticed any
difference in the system's operation after killing it.

I'm hitting this with Xephyr, just installing xserver-xephyr and trying
for example command "Xephyr :2" triggers this assert:

`key->initialized' failed.

To amend my previous comment: it works fine when running Maverick
natively on my Thinkpad X60 (Intel 945GM GPU), but fails when running
inside VirtualBox with guest additions installed from virtualbox-ose-
guest-x11 package, as well as with the guest additions shipping with
nonfree VirtualBox.

I also tried it with AMD64 Maverick, and it behaves the same - works
without guest additions, but doesn't work with them.
