The AppArmor profile included in MySQL Server 5, version 5.0.67-0ubuntu6
doesn't denies mysqld permissions to create socket, resulting in
problems with installation of package and use of MySQL.

It's a little messy and includes entries after i disabled AppArmor for
MySQL.

I had a similar problem a while back.
I was trying to bring the vlans up in a similar way to what you are
doing, and i had the following configuration:
auto vlan50
iface vlan50 inet dhcp
bond-mode 802.3ad
bond-miimon 100
xmit_hash_policy layer2+3
lacp_rate slow
Good to hear it worked for you.
I believe the configuration process should be included in the server
guide since it is a desired configuration in most production
environments.
Will try and find out how i can get the info inserted into the guide.

Already installed the kernel .debs.
Just need to get home and force restart the machine, because the balance
kernel bug stops server from restarting using normal methods. Need to
use "finger in button" method :)

Your comment about hard disc space made me wonder if maybe it could be
some problem with the filesystem on the partition.
A quick sudo e2fsck -f /dev/scd1 found some corrupt inodes that were
fixed and the problem went away.

I can confirm this bug, but i do not believe it is pulseaudio related.
I am experiencing the exact same problems with a new install of Ubuntu
12.04 Server Edition without pulseaudio, with standard alsa sound,
lightdm and xbmc eden.
