Hey,
I'm working on jpeg pics to make a movie, using either mencoder or ffmpeg
(which doesn't make any difference). ffmpeg crashes every time , and gives me
an memory error message :

I experience the same lag problem, up to 20 min with kopete. Quality is also
downgraded a lot. Videoconferencing with Skype doesn't work better, even with
the new 2.0.68 version, same downgraded quality and the system can't handle
video and sound at the same time. (sound lag as wel
ffmpeg works fine with the updated package from the motumedia PPAs.
However with this package I still get the same error message (double
free or corruption) when encoding with mencoder.

Ok. I did a quick and dirty hack. Now that works on my machine. Of
course this issue should be resolved in hal, but at least it works. Edit
/usr/share/python-support/kde-guidance-powermanager/powermanage.py and
change the function onBattery to look that way

I've got the same problem on a VAIO FZ160E. Seems to be a common problem
on Vaios : see bug #216345 .
Hal reports if battery is charging or discharging as well as the
remaining power. Maybe guidance-power-manager should rely on those info
to switch between power management policies.

What was needed was the creation of new files to make those keys
working. I had this problem on a Vaio VGN-FZ160E. This solution might
work on other new VAIO models.
