Is gnome-screensaver (or xscreensaver installed)? gdmflexiserver (which
is "reponsible" for user switching) will try to launch one of them if
present (otherwise it won't lock the screen).
Anyway, this is not a bug in Xfce (gdmflexiserver isn't called with the
'--no-lock' switch, reassigning).

As I wrote, this issue is already fixed in the latest development
version (jaunty). To get the fix, you can upgrade to Xfce 4.4.3 (which
should be in the backports repository, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports), or wait until April
for Xfce 4.6 in Xubun
If you are still experiencing this issue, could you try to set

Ok, thankq for the feedback. I'm not able to reproduce this issue with
Xfce 4.6, so this is apparently fixed. If someone is able to reproduce
it with xfconf & Xfce 4.6, please reopen it.

No, but the issue isn't in the panel, rather in a plugin. You added
several instances of systemload/netload/fsguard plugins, with do some
heavy polling (I tested your configuration and it indeed take a lot of
cpu & memory). So please retry with a lighter configuration, readd your
plugins one-by-one

Jaunty will ship Xfce 4.6 which doesn't use libxfce4mcs anymore. Thus,
please remove libxfce4mcs and its reverse-(build-)dependencies from the
archive (sources & binaries):
* libxfce4mcs: superseeded by xfconf
* xfce-mcs-manager: depends on mcs, superseeded by xfce4-sett
(Waiting for all replacements to get out of NEW before confirming and
subscribing ubuntu-archive.)
