Would installing an older version of Network Manager fix this? I tried
to install from .deb but I had to close nm first, then there was unmet
dependencies. :(

Found an (idiotic but) efficient workaround!
protect /etc/X11/xorg.conf to be overwritten using:
chattr +i /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Then, don't forget to unprotect it and protect it back each time you
want to modify it.

Suffering from this too. Just installed a freshly downloaded Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
on my new 64bit Dell 17R laptop. Crash started to appear after installing
latest TeamViewer.
