I can change the volume with the gnome-panel and any other application,

I tried to install the printer for a second time, but this time the error did
not occur.
Then I removed both instances and installed it again, but this time again
without an error.
I could try to reboot without an installed printer and then install it
again, but it looks to me like it was a one-
I've got this same issue as well on my Sony VPC-SA
I tried this with the latest upstream, on a clean-install with only some
small power-saving tweaks.
Most importantly is probably: I disable the radeon with vgaswitcheroo on
startup:
vi /etc/rc.local

echo OFF > /sys/ker
I also noticed a running-unity tag, but I don't think unity is related.
when I resume from standby and get into the login-prompt at lightdm I
can also press CTRL+ALT+F1 to switch to my terminal (instead of entering
my password) to notice the same freeze for 5 seconds.

I installed the latest upstream kernel on 11.10.
I don't need the options psmouse proto=imps anymore to make scrolling
work.
However the control panel still does not show multi-touch (two-finger
scrolling) and it does not recognize handpalms yet.

I have a Sony Vaio SA with Intel Core i7 and radeon hybrid graphics card
When booting my system I automatically run a script to turn off the Radeon
(which should save me some battery, and reduces heat) with:
