I have now tried the patch from Gerson "fserve" Barreiros for the last
few days and the system runs instable. I have tried to use either
GFreqlet for the panel or via Konsole powernowd. And for both option I
recognize that there is a throtteling of the system-tact, but after
approx. 30 min. or so,
Adding the new patch did solve as well the problem. The Bug could be
closed.

Unfortunately the
sudo modprobe p4-clockmod
works only as long as the computer is not turned off. Is there a way to
make this working automatically as well when the computer is turned on?
The other question is, if this works as well when logged in as a
different user then the Administrator.
Upgraded to 24-20 and still the same...
I'll keep using the 24-14 for a few more days and then I'll make a fresh

not heat that much when running with 500 MHZ or 1 GHZ instead of 2 GHZ.

I'm try to edit xorg.conf an add in the section "Device" the line

When I restart the system , I have a problem with graphics and the

ok, i found how to remove ACPI=OFF definitely from grub.
just Edit the file named menu.lst and find the kernel line like in grub,
and remove ACPI=OFF
to edit this file, just press ALT+F2, and type "gksudo gedit" and search
for the file in local disk/boot/grub/
removig "ACPI=OFF" and adding "pnpb
This is also happens to me in 64-bit 9.04. No relation to disk space
though. ./gnome2/sticknotes_applet is written to at logon when the note
contents disappear. Does sticky_notes normally write to this file at log
on?

i can confirm that on a nx8220 laptop. suspend works well but i get the error
message after a resume.

happens to me 2...when i boot from Ubuntu , kubuntu , Xubuntu cd for install
the computer freezes
In fedora i had the same problem but when i enter interactive startup and
disable cpuspeed i works
Any suggestions on ubuntu ?

well ... this computer has gone months ago ;-) , but I experienced a similar
problem in the new computer where I installed 7.10. It happened two times after
two kernel updates.
I made a new installation of 7.10 at hd(3,0).
Later I "moved" the disk, the hd(3) becomes hd(0), theferore I c
Try booting with something like nofb noapic noacpi acpi=off nolapic. I
don't know witch of the options helped me but it worked.Another
suggestion: Buy a mac :)

After a kernel update I made with Adept_updater two things happened:
- system did not boot anymore
- menu.lst was altered wrongly
I analysed what happened, and:
-l hd(0,1) references have been changed to hd(0,0)
- the win2k chainload disappeared

J'ai simplement recommencé l'installation a partir du CD live.
Je soupconne mon ordinateur et non Kubuntu

With beta2, after removing the preferences, the problem persists.
Maybe it could be marked Won't Fix for Karmic so that other people don't
reopoen the bug?
