Of course, I dont't open tens of tabs at once each day, and I don't remember
the ones I did opened when I got this crash. Up to these two limitations, I can
affirm the I don't have the problem anymore with Karmic.
I just did some testes, and nothing happened, so let's close the bug.

I do that. However, I have to mention that I installed the Nvidia driver
with jockey-kde.
Right this morning, I got an error "your computer is working in low
resolution mode : no driver found" during the boot. Actually, Compiz
fails to start now.

An other workaround (maybe more userfrindly) is to use jockey-gtk
$ apt-get installe jockey-gtk
$ jockey-gtk
The advantage I see is that jockey-text does not mention which of the
driver is recommanded. (at least in the Nvidia case)

Well ... The fact to remove the "Note" *seems* to make my X feel better.
I still get 70% on X and 25% on plasma-desktop at start (with or without
locking the applets). But when I "fix" the situation[1], I get 20%-0%
(ok) and the bug it seems not to get back. That information has to be
taken with so

It will launch Empathy, quite slower than normal. After reproducing the crash,

I found that the fact to modify the size of the panel sometimes fixes
the bug. Also the fact to add a new panel and remove it makes X and
plasma-desktop back to a natural use of CPU.

I have to correct one statement : the Valgrind's log contains in fact
some segfault. A friend who knows about read it and said me that the
lines with "Invalid write of size 4" and "Invalid read of size 4"
indicate the segfault. However, Empathy did not crashed during the
Valgrind cession.

I still have the issue with Karmic-Alpha (KDE). Precision : X takes a
lot from the CPU in the same time. Typically 40-40 between X and plasma-
desktop (total between 60 and 90%).

I think that this bug is related to the nouveau driver or to my Nvidia
card : my laptop (that has the same installation but has an Intel
graphical card) has no problems.
For information :

Other constatation : Firefox and Thunderbird are clearly triggering the
bug.
When gvim is the only opened GTK app, I've hardly no problems. When on
the other hand I open Firefox or Thunderbird, things are rapidely
degenerating.

I'm sorry I didn't keep these ps (ps2pdf rocks ;) ) I got a try with
other ones, but I didn't got a crash anymore; however I upgraded to
Konqueror 4.2.2 in the same time.
