lrm-manager is usually in linux-restricted-modules-common package
but is missing in last update : linux-restricted-modules-common-2.6.26-1.2

I have the Dell C610 with radeon 7000 graphic card and I got the same problem
(freeze) using "ati" and "radeon" drivers.
Indeed, the "radeon" driver is just a kind of 3d extension to "ati" driver. So

On Oneiric, after install kernel upgrade to linux-image-3.0 and
linux-headers-3.0 (x64), Virtualbox is not able to detect multi CPU and VT-X
support(Sony VGN-Z31WN, VT-x ativated).
vmx flags detected in /proc/cpuinfo
Also few hardware are detected when installing a new VM (
bugs appears after upgrading ia32-libs.
Managed to solve it removing read permission on libpulse.so.0.12.2 and
libpulse-simple.so.0.0.3 (in /usr/lib32)

freeze X interface, without being root :
kdm does not launch kde till the end, but successful for fluxbox
dolphin, ktorrent, virtualbox freeze X

Aprés avoir utisé ubuntu 7.10 plusieurs mois sur mon laptop acer 7720G sans
aucun probléme j ais fais la mise a jour comme indiqué sur les topics .
Mise à jour réussi mais a chaque démarrage de ubuntu 8.04 LTS j ai un fond
d'écran noir et les barres des taches par contre son
