I experience the exactly same issue on a Toshiba A100 SK4. Worked in
7.10, did a clean install of 8.04. No wireless.

The following solution (just above) did NOT work for me

I did most of what techatdd suggested and it worked for me.
1) I did a 'modprobe -r iwl3945' and 'modprobe iwl3945'
2) I installed linux-backp
I was hoping the 27 MB file i uploaded might hold some more information.
I was running ubuntu linux, i cant recall the kernel, which ever comes with
v.6.10 default
Netbeans 5.5 with some of the latest module updates.
Firefox 2.xxx what ever the latest update was. since yesterday.
My ubuntu is pret
i thought i uploaded a .bin file from my /lib/crash directory?
where would that appear?

Ive also noticed that netbeans 5.5 will only open a window with nothing in it,
no panes, not projects nothing.
