I have a different solution for my problem. I have to change in
/etc/network/interfaces the eth0 to vnet0. I have found that now
ifconfig commant give me that the name for my card is vnet0.

Is strange because i create this folder with dolphin and i use utf-8 and

it seem that is not only a strigi problem.It happens and with
gdeb,kpackage.They canot see the right name of the folders and canot read some
deb file that exist in these folder.The message i take from kpackage is this

I like to say that this system is gutsy from feisty upgrade.I dont have
this problem with feisty.I see that i have the same problem and with

many gnome programmes looks very ugly in hardy.The programmes are
synaptic,firestarter,nvidia-setting when i open it with kdesudo. The
strange is that some gtk programmes work great but other are not. I have

i have see that the problem have to do with all the programmes when you
open them with kdesudo. I was thinking that was a gtk programmes problem
but is not. I look in my home for a hide /.themes folder but i dont have
any folder with that name. Can anyone change and the bug report title?

it was problem with the nvidia driver.I have install the latest nvidia
driver and i have no problem anymore.

I have just install lucid netbook remix edition to my dell inspiron
1011. Everything works fine expect plymouth. The boot time is too long
and i have some errors before ubuntu logo appear.

I too have the 4810T, I'm running linux mint 8, 32bit kernel 2.6.31,
it's based on ubuntu with a gnome interface. I just upgraded from bios
1.12 to 1.33 and this bug started happening. Now I want to go back to
1.12 again, but that early of a revision isn't posted on acers site. I

I have this same hardware, and it's available for troubleshooting. As
listed above, this issue is still present in lucid alpha release 2, I'm
downloading alpha 3 now and will have it installed very shortly, please

I just tested the issue on 32bit lucid alpha 3, the bug still remains.
As usual, when visual effects are set to none, the system responds ok,

I'm happy to report I was able to locate bios version 1.26 and enable a
work around:

after downgrading the bios to 1.26 brightness control functionality returned to

I just confirmed this workaround does function on the ubuntu lucid alpha
3 live. I created a bootable sd card with unetbootin and the alpha3
iso, then edited the file syslinux.cfg on the sdcard and changed the
similar default line to the following:
append initrd=/ubninit file=/cdrom/preseed/ubunt
