Tested the proposed grub packages on 3 servers:
PowerEdge 11G Series, which always worked in EFI mode
PowerEdge 12G Series with the 'broken' BIOS - i.e. one where 12.04 would
not boot in EFI mode.

EFI mode.

After some discussions with Dell as to the whereabouts of 0.5.0 on

I tested the updated ledmon on Precise with a Dell Poweredge R720, which
includes one of the new PCIe SSD enclosures.
Updating from 0.32-1 to 0.74-1 requires a new dependency, which is
libsgutils2-2. This was pulled in by apt-get, so, no problems there.
With the previous 0.32-1 release, I could
On the R720 we created a software raid array (md) with some PCIe-SSD
disks. With the 0.32-1 version of ledmon, we could identify the raid
array using ledctl locate command, but, the ledctl_off command (which
stops the blinking) did not work. After updating to 0.74-1, the
locate_off command worked
We also tested Quantal on the same server.
Earlier, I was incorrect when I said that 0.32-1 didn't blink the hard
drive LED when running:
sudo ledctl locate=/dev/rssda
It does indeed work. The problem is that when you run the following
command to turn the blinking off, it does not take effect:

I'd like to second the importance of having a working irqbalance now
rather than later now that biosdevname is available in 12.10. I think
it'd be worth it to try and get a feature freeze exception for this.

This is a hardware problem with the unit. I have an E6330 here in the
Dell lab and suspend works just fine when the lid is closed. This was
also raised when the system was undergoing Ubuntu testing and we
confirmed that the machine we have has a broken magnet or sensor on it.

I'd also like to see logs from this system and more details about how to
reproduce. I have a T110ii that does not experience these problems,
even with a GA release of 12.04. I've done a simlutaneous download of
files of size 3.2GB and 1.6GB via www and haven't had anything drop out
yet. While th
Verified with L322X and the -proposed kernel. I can disable bluetooth
via the indicator menu and it no longer takes the wifi down with it.

>From what I can tell, the most current firmware for the Broadcom NIC is
7.2.14 for this system. I just updated mine from 6.2.1.
On my test T110ii, I have updated the Ubuntu OS to the latest 12.04.1
server code (kernel and all) in addition to updating the BCM NIC
firmware. The BIOS on my T110ii
I kicked off an iperf test and let it run for about 5 hours on this
server.
With the latest 12.04 kernel and latest firmware on the broadcom card, I
did not get any interruptions in service on the NIC during the test run.
On my T110ii here, things seem to be working OK with the onboard brodcom
