Public bug reported:
The Raspberry Pi 4 will not connect with 5Ghz band with the linux-
firmware-raspi2 in the ubuntu 19.10 package.
Expect 5ghz bands to show up in WiFi connect choices.
What happened instead is only 2.4Ghz bands were available choices.
The following info has the solutions:
ht
# % Set regulatory crda to enable 5 Ghz wireless
sudo mkdir -p /mnt/etc/default
sudo touch /mnt/etc/default/crda
cat << EOF | sudo tee /mnt/etc/default/crda
# Set REGDOMAIN to a ISO/IEC 3166-1 alpha2 country code so that iw(8) may set
# the initial regulatory domain setting for IEEE 802.11 devices
I use vino in ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS and the clients that work with
encryption are vinagre and remmina.
