I can also confirm I had this problem on a ASUS M3N-H/HDMI with a fresh

I had the same -no sound with any app, after upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10.
Got it working by going to System, Preferences, Sound; and on the Output tab of
the Sound Preferences window, slid the Balance control off centre and back.
Possibly any other adjustment would have brought the sound to life
My /usr/local/bin directory is empty but installing octave3.2 still
returns an error.

I recently purchased the Samsung SCX-4623F printer/scanner. When I
attempted to scan a document at 600dpi or lower there was no problem.
Higher than this I got an "Out of memory" error.
The Ubuntu 9.10 machine has 6Gb of RAM, and 16Gb swap space and was
freshly rebooted.

I have a Lenovo T500 with a docking station. When docked, Gnome switches
quite nicely to the DVI display on the docking station. When I undock
the laptop, the laptop's screen is used. At no point are both screens

Toshiba PORTEGE R830 (Display Intel i915) , upgrading from 13.10 10
14.04 both monitors are freezing (in any case the mouse pointer is
moving) randomly. Ctrl-Alt-F1 and Ctrl-Alt-F7 is solving the issue not
always, sometimes I need Ctrl-Alt-Can and logout. The problem seems is
not happening if I'm
cured, I went to the open
terminal and issued ubuntu-bug unity. The following occured in the terminal:

Thanks you. I have a classroom of 13 machines and use recycled hard

Tried suspend and resume again following instructions "resume-trace" debugging
procedure for finding buggy drivers.
using sudo sh -c "sync && echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace && pm-suspend" I
suspended and resumed 3 times in a row and everything resumed properly.
Then I tried normal suspend from men
Tried same thing again 4 times in a row with "sudo sh -c "sync && echo 1 >
/sys/power/pm_trace && pm-suspend" and again everything resumed correctly.
Then after normal suspend again mouse locked up so I powered down and rebooted
and dmesg > dmesg.txt I do not know if there is any different info i
Tested 3.12.0-rc3 and had same results as rc2. Then tried same kernel with
nomodeset and only get black screen and only power button can reboot. Got hash

Tried nomodeset on kernel 3.11.0-9 and keep getting these apport kerneloops.
Attached a test of BIOS and got quite a few errors
