I have installed new Ubuntu 9.04 version recently and i had to run sudo
dhclient eth0 everytime i had to go to internet
this problem was not there in ubuntu 8-10

hey guys
I have been using kubuntu for a month now . And i am very happy with the
performance
Today i ran updates for kubuntu (around 85 MB updates )
and suddenly my Kubuntu became Ubuntu and looks ugly

I think i have solved the problem
What happens is when you run the update and restart the computer and try to
login
the session is defaulted to gnome thats why it certainly creates panic with
users like me
( who just switched from windows to linux)
So One has to select the session type to KDE (
I have a black screen during boot.
My machine is a Dell Precision M6300 with a native resolution of 1920x1200. I
changed my configuration to the settings suggested but without results.
My /etc/usplash.conf is set at 1024x768.
My /boot/grub/menu.lst has
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic

see is 1600x1200, and in general it's missing all "wide" resolutions like
1440x900, 1680x1050 etc...
My display is currently working at 1920x1200, is it possibl

I have in installed the fix and tried to follow everything.
The Netbook remix view works perfectly...but when I switch to Classic,
the top BAR stays as "Netbook remix" (the home button is not clickable

"acpi_backlight=video" is actually non-functional (see LP: #573120).

To install this kernel, download the two .deb files and install them using:

@Jerone - This fix has not yet been submitted to the kernel lists, since
I'm still working on polishing the patches -- I consider this to be a
"PRELIMINARY TEST FIX" only, but I would like to get confirmation from
the other bug subscribers that the method works without problems for
them. The patch
@Andy and other testers: I'm not sure why this didn't make it into
2.6.32-22.33. But it appears that it is staged for release in
2.6.32-22.34 and a pre-release version of that is available in this PPA:

The "conflicts with self" syntax allows a package to conflict with
others providing a replacement for it, as explained in more detail at
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-
relationships.html#s-conflicts . Previous versions of hamlib also used
this syntax -- its not a new behav
