It could not upgrade the upgrade manager during upgrade from ubuntu
studio 7.10 to 8.0.4. Also downloaded the DVD and did a clean install
but 8.0.4 did not want to install in my machine. I forgot to write down

I'm not able to reproduce this bug anymore since the final 19.10
release. Video works fine now, both in mpv and gnome-mpv.

@vanvugt You're right, it's not the theme. I spent some time
investigating this:
The tearing occurs while using GNOME-MPV or Celluloid. It's Z-shaped,
and constant. It occurs after a slight flicker 5-10 seconds into playing
any video. (And doesn't appear in screen captured videos, it sounds like
a
No Z-shaped tearing in MPV but there is that "desktop pops up and
disappears" flicker.

20-radeon.conf), the Z shaped tearing disappears from GNOME-MPV

this report to deal with the flicker only. I'd really rather not shirk
this report with the traction it's received.

that's stuck inside the flicker reappears when I shut down / restart my
computer. That's a potential security issue because you might not be the

Curious as to the rationale behind using the v4.7 prerelease, as opposed
to the current v4.6.3 release. Is there something broken for
Ubuntu/Debian in v4.6.3 that v4.7 fixes?
Somewhat related, is there any reason the version packaged for
Ubuntu/Debian doesn't track with that packaged from Red Hat/
Seems reasonable. I hadn't seen anything in the changelog that made

I don't understand the complaints. Firefox keeps getting faster and
better with every iteration.

abolishing some of its built in features. But thats why there is
