I've solved mine problem with Samsung 206BW!
i've experimented with different refresh rates using gtf, and the one that
worked was with "gtf 1680 1050 61".
# 1680x1050 @ 61.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 66.31 kHz; pclk: 149.59 MHz

i have a similiar problem. My monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050,
but my screen cut off on every edge of the monitor
(top,right,bottom,left). I have a samsung 206bw with intel g965 card.

i've solved my problem by upgrading to gutsy. it seems that the new
xserver-xorg-video-intel in gutsy fixes the problem. :-D

in the previous post i wrote the name of the wrong package.. it is
xserver-xorg-video-i810 not xserver-xorg-video-intel. sorry...
