This bug is easily triggered on my computer. This only happens in
Feisty, I've never seen this in Edgy or Dapper.
1. You need two user accounts to do this
2. Login with user account A
3. Lock the screen (or wait until the screensaver starts and the screen is
locked) and swit
I've found out that the open source Ati drivers are quite certainly the
cause of these crashes. I changed the driver from "ati" to "vesa" to
test it and now all works well.

On my computer, gphoto2 used to work fine for normal users (as long as
they were members of the "plugdev" group). The previous time I tried it
was on 19 April 2008, with an up-to-date (k)ubuntu; it worked fine.
Nowadays, this is no longer the case. Presumably it broke down when I
upgraded to Kubun
Happens also to me, very often on my EEE Pc, and sometimes on my Acer
laptop. There is an option to shutdown anyway, but if I close the laptop
lid it is easy to not notice the dialog and accidentally leave the

In Kubuntu 7.10, there are still some problems with the window size.
The following occurs regularly even if I have only one kpdf window:
- The KPDF window is maximised vertically when I log out.
- On the next login, the window is no longer maximised vertically, and

By doing some googling, I was able to find a workaround. By default the
bitmap fonts are disabled, so you need to run these two commands:
1) sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
Answer the questions, and specifically, answer yes to the question about
enabling bitmap fonts.
2) sudo dpkg-reconf

eth0 uses DHCP, eth1 uses static addresses.
I do not know if the bug has been fixed in the latest version of
Ubuntu; I am still using the workaround that I mentioned in the
original bug report.
