My 2650 still requires pci=noacpi with 2.6.31-6, and I have yet to get
the touchpad working in X with any Karmic alpha, so it looks like there
is still work to go on this.

So far I haven't been able to hit my test box with enough load to
trigger a repeat. My production system has glitched a few more times
even with noop so now I'm really lost.
I can toss a newer mainline kernel on my production system, or I can
continue attempting to up the load on my test box, how
I've run up against this twice now.

The box is running smbd with the only share being on a dmcrypted
partition. I have a dozen Windows systems running everything from Win2k
to 2k3 pushing nightly NTBackup
Just had the problem occur again, this time dmcrypt wasn't in use on the
volume with the hosted share. dmcrypt is in use on the system though?
Machine is hung badly enough that my serial console isn't functional so
I can't grab any additional debug info from this instance. Looks like

I've been running into this on 10.4, initially thought it was due to
#480849 as my share was on a dmcrypt'd volume but this morning it did it
again after I had converted the volume to a non encrypted setup. My
serial console is only spitting out the kernel crash info, box is hung
badly enough that

I see there is an updated kernel for Lucid today, before I jump to a

I don't have the resources to replicate or permission to alter my

Updated to the latest mainline kernel, will report back if I observe the
same hang or manage to go 7 days without issues. I'm also prepping a
Maverick test system to see if I can reproduce the issue
Unfortunately, the new kernel didn't fix the problem. Machine just hung
itself again. I'll work on getting a mainline kernel installed next
unless someone tells me to do otherwise.

So far the mainline kernel has been stable. I just re-enabled the most
intensive backup job I have to try and further stress test things.

I've not re-encountered this bug with the mainline kernel. I am getting
random failures in samba after a bit over a week of run time but I don't
think it's this issue in another guise.
