@jawahar I am game for building some sort of communication tool based on
Jabber to hopefully get Canonical/Ubuntu behind it for basic community
support. All *buntu releases come with Pidgin, which is capable of using
Jabber by default. Let's see what kind of rabbits I can pull out of my hat.
This is surely a great idea, but this can be accomplished using tools
that are in the default installation.
Instead of creating a new daemon to sit there idle for 1-2 months at a
time and using memory when it's not needed (even if it's very small), we
can setup a 'root' cron job to run a simple sc
It's up to you now to take the ball and run with it. Are we going to
talk about the other companies and be lemmings of corporate
brainwashing or are we going to something about it?

Any chance of getting your vbam-trunk PPA to have a 16.04 xenial build?
The PPA currently goes up to 15.10 wily. I really don't want to mix
release versions, even though the package is quite old.
I would make a PPA myself for a 16.04 version, but packaging is over my
head at this time. Le
Upgrading from 15.04 to 15.10.
This issue is present in the i386 builds as well.

This is a bit redonkulous. I just setup a new box using the utopic 14.10
amd64 desktop dvd image. I upgraded it from utopic to devel, which
points to vivid 15.04 currently.
I didn't notice this traffic before on my LAN's DNS cache because
normally I would configure the static IP info from
/etc/net

The icmp6_send events seems to coincide with the DNS queries to
daisy.ubuntu.com. I'm not quite sure why the kernel is complaining about
IPv6 stuff, as it is working just fine. Connecting to
https://www.v6.facebook.com/ and https://ipv6.google.com/ come up with
