I am having (and have had) the same issue. Did this ever get resolved
or at least labelled as a bug to be fixed in release XYZ?
Thanks

Progress is being made. I used the 4/15 build. I booted with the CDRW and
everything worked great. I booted with the DVD and received the following
error:
Loading isolinux: Disk Error 10, AX=4200, drive EF
IO Error; Error Reading Boot CD;
Reboot

Per your advice below to burn a CD and look for the drives. I will do that
and the rebuild to test but wanted to further clarify my description of
"Hangs every time at..."; If I leave it for 2 to 3 minutes it will

I reinstalled and updated to the most recent Feisty image (today) and still
am experiencing the hang related to ATA. I also noticed my DVD is not
installed/mounted. It was with Edgy just before the reinstall.

Clarification...the DVD does show up but not in "Places" only in "Computer"
view. CD shows up in both. Both are functional.

Further clarification...CD (that has RW) shows up but is NOT functional. It
was previous to install.

Possibly worthy of note...all drives from Edgy fstab use "hda..." vs same in
Feisty use "sda...".

I have a workaround for this "hang". If I have any cd mounted in the (CDRW)
drive during boot, the hang does not occur AND the CDRW that doesn't
normally work on boot, works.
Any thoughts???
