Hi!
All default kernels don't work with my system.
If I boot the LiveCD or kernels of the distribution, it will freeze at "Loading
ACPI modules... ".
I can only start with boot parameter "acpi=off" (all other options don't work).

Hmm, probably the ACPI error on my system is unrelated to the former posts.
There seems to be a problem in the ACPI | video module.
I've have recompiled the kernel, disabling the video module and APM.
Now ACPI works flawlessly.
Anyway, I have opened a new bug report which describes this behaviour:
Thanks, the Hardy Heron Alpha 6 LiveCD doesn't show this bug anymore.
Works like a charm on my X60.

I have added:
blacklist video
to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
This works for the listed Ubuntu kernels.
But I didn't get this "usplash" thing ...?
If I boot the kernel without "splash", there is no splash scree
