It might be possible to include the TTF file in the source package and
skip the roboto deb but I would like to see a solution where TeX Live
and the regular packaging system plays well together. Maybe I am
wishing to much.

I will put Roboto in BirdFonts own folder and avoid installing it as a
system font in order to make sure that there are no conflicts with
other versions of the font.

Roboto is now a part of the BirdFont source package and the dependency
on the font-roboto deb can be dropped in the next release.

I did find a bug that might be connected to this one. When ever I run a
TimeoutSource with a short interval in GLibs main loop will all the idle
events be put on hold until the timer ends. This caused the spinning
wheel to block the main loop. I have not been able to track down the
problem in GLib
Thank you for the report. I have not managed to reproduce this problem. Does it
happen with all bf files? I would like to see the file you are changing if the
problem is connected to one file.

It should work, libxmlbird.so.1.0 is ABI compatible with
libxmlbird.so.1.3.
I did just learn how so version should be updated but I have not found
any Ubuntu document with instructions regarding the so version yet.

Hi. I think this happens for me as well. I just want to add that I only
get audio from my left channel. Things sound good with other cards and
the same card on other operating systems.

Adding default-sample-rate = 48000 to /etc/pulse/daemon.conf got rid of
the distortion but I only get audio from my left channel. Do you have
any idea why that could be the case?
