This is not a firefox bug. It's a pango bug which has been fixed in pango svn.

I've been using gutsy gibbon for more than a month. I run apt-get
upgrade when there are new updates. Now it looks very likely that the
bug has gone from my system. Firefox has been working well for quite a
few days, at least two weeks. Back then the problem could pop up a few
times a day.

a few of the firefox users are experiencing this issue. I suspect it
might be a hardware specific problem. And I've sent some emails asking
people about their hardware configuration. Unfortunately I was not

Noticing that ctrl++ and ctrl+- has the same effect as resizing the
window, I wrote a simple extension that does ctrl++ and ctrl+-
automatically after pages are loaded. It's simple and stupid , but it
works. At least I don't have to close firefox and reopen it every now

It's still happening now and then on my machine. I've tried several versions,
including 2.0.0.3+1-0ubuntu2, 2.0.0.4+1-0ubuntu1 and 2.0.0.4 tarball version
downloaded from mozilla.com.
I agree with Alexander that it might be caused by an extension. Unfortunately I
have more than 10 extensions i

Hi, Alexander,
I can confirm that this issue also exists in safe mode without any
plugin. I recorded the session with recordmydesktop . The recording
can be downloaded from http://freo.3322.org/tmp/firefox.ogg .

It turns out that this is a gnome 3 configuration problem.

GNOME 3.0 has a gsettings key to also trigger this behaviour on a per-
