on the git mailing list, it seems related to me rsyncing my tree between
multiple machines.

I've seen a very similar (most likely the same root cause) problem. I
think the key is the high load, low CPU, and extreme unresponsiveness.
My guess is that the system is waiting for disk resources, and queueing
up on the CPU. Any suggestions on what information to gather to test

This worked under Saucy but broke when I upgraded to Trusty. I've
attached usb_modeswitch.log obtained from turning debugging on.

the saucy versions:

I can probably work around this by removing the conflicting package, but

I was able to build and install the driver Xprogrammer found, but it
does not work for me at all. It can get an address via DHCP but after
that I can't even ping the default gateway.
There were several warnings produced during the build, lots of dmesg
output, and a stack dump triggered in net/mac
I was able to resolve this issue by moving to the gnome/staging ppa. I
still have my default monitor moving to the left for the greeter at
login. I am using the current nvidia driver with two dvi monitors and
one HDMI.

might be related to the amount of memory assigned to the virtual
machine. I had 1GB of memory previously where the problem occurred. I
just increased it to 1.5GB (for other reasons) and suddenly the theming

I have this same issue on Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" X64 edition when
copying files across the network from one machine to the other. Both
use the same OS. The only thing I see which may affect the whole
situation is the drives containing the files to copy and store the
information are NTFS instea
