I confirm this too:

I keep having this error in the official gutsy release.
Firestarter works ok though when I start it.

I had the same issue. Removing http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu
feisty-commercial from the repositories solved the problem.

Had the same problem.
Starting update manager as user or with sudo/gksudo didn't provide me with the
upgrade button.

Miguel you're right.
I was using a mix of repositories on Feisty. That's probably how I got
tcl & tk 8.5. After the upgrade to Gutsy i only use the official
repositories.
Anyway, removing tcl 8.5 and tk 8.5, did the trick. aMSN still doesn't
look good, but no error messages.
