That's the bzr executable (which isn't used by olive-gtk). You need to
set the PYTHONPATH appropriately for olive-gtk.

FWIW, API changes in security releases do happen. The second-to-last
security release changed several function signatures, for example
(http://us5.samba.org/samba/ftp/patches/security/samba-3.0.29-CVE-2008-1105.patch).
We as upstream don't install all of these headers as-is intentionally.

It's not just there for notification, also to allow you to for example
enable gateway to LAN and announcing branches on the LAN.
Perhaps it should just be disabled by default until the user enables it
rather than enabled until the user disables it.

gdbcommands is unrelated - it's a file that only gets used when smbd
crashes and can't cause slowdown of Samba.
I guess this may be a regression in 3.2.

different bindings these days that probably don't have this problem.

There *is* a verison of bzr-svn that works with bzr 1.8 - bzr-svn 0.4.13
works with bzr 1.8 and Debian experimental has a version of bzr-svn that
also silences the compatibility warning.

I changed my mind because of the errors you and others brought to my
attention :-) 0.4.13 will print these errors as single lines. I'll just
have to deal with the fact that this will also happen for some bugs now.
