I ran into a problem with installing lucid (10.04) on my Toshiba nb305.
After a clean install, it was hanging at boot unable to find the boot
drive in grub. As a last ditch hope I added "nohz=off highres=off" to
the linux boot line and it now boots up.
I've modified /etc/default/grub and done an

Problem description:
A fresh install of Lucid (10.04) Netbook Edition from USB onto a Toshiba NB305,
dual booting with Windows 7.
Install goes fine, first boot fails with following type of error:

I'm using gnome-flashback and not unity...
I tried the same approach as Tecknomage for my .local/share/applications
versions of the menu items. I found that even though there is a Group
calles Games, having Games in the Categories simply put the menu entry
into "Other".

It looks like the issue with Icons is that the image picker drops the
file suffix when it saves menu entry. I manually modified the alacarte-
made.desktop file and added the appropriate ending to file specified for
the icon and the image now shows properly.
