Hi Jerome,
Back in July, you requested that I attach my Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf
files to the above-mentioned bug. I have done so, but the bug is still
marked as "Needs info". Is there anything else I can do to help move
towards a resolution?

I have installed the kubuntu-desktop on top of an existing Ubuntu Edgy
Eft installation, and I am using KDE rather than Gnome.
The right alt key did not function properly by default in KDE either. I
found a way to fix the right alt key by going to:
System Settings > Regional & Language > Key
