Thanksfor the information. I can not always reproduce the bug. It may
happen at least when Xfce power manager is used for suspending and
screen locking is set in its preferences and random screensaver is used.
I have not tried the nv drive in Lucid, yet.

You can choose software mixer in xine provided by xine-ui package from
motumedia ppa at least. It is audio mixer control method in gui
settings, if you choose experience level advanced or more expert. I
couldn't find similar setting in gxine of ubuntu 9.04.

Here video gets blue tint, if I reset Color balance preferences in Totem

The bug reporter used totem-gstreamer, not the xine backend. As for
NVidia restricted driver, there is fixed in 185.xxx series.
(http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=1913036). But I am
using the open source nv driver and have this problem in Jaunty.

In Karmic, when I try to launch guest session by command /usr/share/gdm
/guest-session/guest-session-launch I don't get proper desktop
environment for guest. Window manager (xfwm4) may be missing, and
panels, too.

Yes, and you can set whether or not it asks password on resume from
suspend and hibernate in the xfce4-power-manager's preferences. But in
Karmic, the log out dialog does not use a power manager to suspend and
hibernate. In principle, a log out dialog is not the right place for
