The bug was with Ubuntu 6.06 and Inkscape wasn't adding itself to the
list of applications that can handle svg files. Anyway the bug is most
likely fixed by now. I haven't tested on any of the newer versions.

No wireless here. As a work around I put a sleep 5 at the top of
/etc/init.d/ntp. This delays the starting of ntp long enough that I now

Ntp seems to go out of it's way to not do a wildcard bind to port 123.
It is only binding to port 123 for each interface. If the interface is
not up it does not get bound to. This is from starting ntp after eth0 is
up.

13 hours later I just finished yet another install. This one worked with
the network connected.
Maybe it was a transient. It took about 1 1/2 day to clear. This finally
working install was my 5th install with the network connected spread

My prefer fix is still apt-get remove network-manager
I just installed network-manager 0.6.4-6ubuntu4 and it still starts ntpd

I am not going to buy a new mouse for a kernel bug that was fixed the
day I reported it, 5 weeks + 1 day ago.
Tried a vanilla 2.6.20.4 and the fix is not in it. The fix as been
applied in the 2.6.21-rcX series. The kernels I have been using are
2.6.21-rc4 and 2.6.21-rc5 so I have a working mouse.
Installed the system from kubuntu-7.04-beta-desktop-i386.iso then
updated it. The snapshot posted is a good representation the icon
problem I have with evolution.

Some automatic updates just came in. Snaptic still shows
gnome-control-center 1:2.17.91-0ubuntu2. I don't know
what the updates were, but the cpu usage has gone down

I run both, Edgy and Feisty from the same hardware setup, but on two different
hard drives.
Edgy has been up and running with no problems now for a good while.
Feisty has been running and has been updated since its first development
release.
I now have Feisty Alpha 3.

I found an old Aiptek camera and the Feisty alpha 3 recognized it immediately.
Camorama worked with it too. Camorama may not have a problem. It might be that
Feisty alpha 3 just doesn't recognize the old Logitech Quick cam.

this is actually a bug in update-notifier, not update-manager.
attached is an svg version of the "updates-notifier" image that could be
used by the application (currently the only version icon is located at
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/16x16/apps/updates-notifier.png). Not very
detailed, but at least

Runing Lucid Beta-1
Screen will go blank and sometimes does not come back, sometimes it does
but if it does come back it takes about 2 miinutes and kills the session
so possibly killing X. Not sure if this is the same bug bug but sounds
too close to create a different one.
