BUG FIXED. Recent kernel upgrades appear to have solved the problem.
Wireless with Netgear wg511v2 under ndiswrapper works perfectly.

Yes the presence of my Netgear WG511 wireless card will usually freeze my
laptop at boot. Removing the card fixes the problem.
Worked very well in Breezy. Ndiswrapper is used to load driver.

I used ndiswrapper to run a Netgear wg511v2 PCMCIA wireless card. The card
will work well, but on reboot it freezes at "network interface configure". The
card worked under Breezy.
If I remove the card the boot is normal.

Thanks, I don't use desktop effects. But once again Updatemanager is
working well on all my computers. I only ever had the problem on my
laptop. A bit puzzling.

Yes update-manager is still stalling/freezing the system when the
updates are being installed. Needs a reboot to unlock, mouse frozen.
Synaptic seems to work OK.

I fixed this problem by adding some more memory to the involved
computer! Updating has worked well since.

I upgraded from edgy to fiesty. I notice that the 94MB boot partition
is completely full (100% in use) and this makes further upgrades
impossible. I tried deleting old kernel images from /boot but this made
only a slight difference.

I could sync my treo 600 in Fiesty, now both Gpilot and Jpilot are
broken and will not connect. Warning tells me to select a USBdevice and
that I do not have the visor module loaded. Was working PERFECTLY.
