I am using a Acer Laptop (Acer 5583NWXMI, 5580 series) with Intel(R)
PRO/Wireless 3945ABG/BG Network Connection, whic doesn't work.
I have tried #ubuntu on IRC and all ubuntu forums but to no use.
Here are a few logs which may help you in tracing:

i Just got that warning when i try to install 3.1-1.1ubuntu4 and i dont
know much about ubuntu or linux though and i tried sudo apt-get
--reinstall install slocate but it gaves me the same warning

configuration files so if one is corrupted, the supplied GUI tools are suspect.
My computer appears to be unusable at this point.
