New installaltion hangs during startup. It first stops during the point
"Network interfaces", if I press ctrl-c it continues but hangs after user id +
password with arrow.
Network card is a CNet Wireless-G CWP-854 connected to a unsecured network.

iMac G5 rev C.
It boots up nicely but as soon as xwindows starts it is black only. It
is possible to log into gnome, but still only black. Fan starts to sound
like a vaccum cleaner after a minute or so.

I can confirm John Squibb's observation. I upgraded from 8.04.3 to 9.04
two days ago and I have seen this behavior several times since then. I
