I confirm this bug, my syslog is full of
gnome-shell[2847]: value "nan" of type 'gfloat' is invalid or out of
range for property 'x' of type 'gfloat'
when it happens.

When I activate the zoom feature, the screen is well magnified but the mouse
pointer stops moving when displacing the mouse, the display is frozen. A kind
of shadow mouse pointer seems to be moving behind with hover effects on UI
components, but the screen and "real" mouse
My single monitor is a common 24" 1920x1080 connected to HDMI.
I did some additional tests :
- the problem is present with all Ubuntu versions since at least 22.04.5 LTS.
- the problem only occurs with cursor pushes contents around mode, not with the
default. Being the nominal Windows magnifier
Thanks for the fix,the error message doesn't appear anymore, the
freezing problem is still present however making the system unusable for
a visually impaired person that need zoom feature like me.
Some new or unnoticed are visible in syslog when the freeze occurs :
gnome-shell[5763]: Can't update
No I don't. All the tests have been made on fresh installs without any
modfication.
I've tried with other distributions (Opensuse, Fedora), and the problem is also
present, it's clearly an upstream bug.

I've set SHELL_DEBUG=all and G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all, and got a stacktrace
I think connected with this bug. I hope it could help.

There is something else I've noticed about this bug, it only appears
when the push mouse tracking mode is selected before activating the
zoom. If I start in proportional or centered mouse tracking mode, the
switch to the push one, the freeze does not seem to occur.

I've tested on completely different system (CSU brand, processor (also
an Intel one though), graphic card (also an Intel one though), monitor,
display size and resolution) : same problem.

I added some traces to understand where the problem was coming from, and I
found this: when the problem occurs, the scrollToMousePos() method of the
magnifier can be called while the _xDelayed and _yDelayed variables are
undefined.
This is the case when you enable the magnifier in push mode with
