I also confirm this bug for a Sony laptop, VAIO VNG-FS415M. Its wireless card
stopped working after upgrading the system with the following packages:
* linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-21-generic (2.6.24-21.31)
* pciutils_1%3a2.2.4-1.1ubuntu6_i386.deb
Module ipw2200 does not load any longer:
$sudo
The new package the includes support for Realtek 8187 USB, linux-ubuntu-
modules-2.6.24-21-generic (2.6.24-21.31), also breaks some existing
wireless functionality. Please have a look at bug 260664,
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-ubuntu-
modules-2.6.24/+bug/260664.

How is the backporting of hardinfo from hardy to gutsy going? The current

I realize now that this problem affects all previous versions of Ubunty that
have getweb in foo2zjs. Can we open a bug tracker for them as well?
I suggest fixing the inconsistent file in the foo2zjs packages, for all
versions.
