The Generation process ends up locked, but in this case, it doesn't affect the
whole system in a total crash.

Yes, they were different, but from the same attempted upgrade.
The upgrade wasn't complete, but still bootable. After removing the
package atop, deleting the affected archives in /var/cache/apt/archives
and a dpkg -a --configure, everything seems fine.

Exactly the same here on a Gigabyte EG45M-DS2H with monitor attached via
DVI (VGA works). The Frequency as shown by the monitor is about 135 kHz/
257 Hz (the values vary a bit and are probably not exact).
This gets logged to Xorg.0.log after the switch to a text console:

Another workaround: set "msdfs root = no" on affected shares or in the
[global] section of smb.conf. If you don't use DFS at all you can also
disable it completely with "host msdfs = no".

I think Nautilus' behaviour is correct. The behaviour is by design, and
the "confirm_trash" option is doing what it is supposed to do: Request
confirmation for the non-revertable actions "Delete Trash" and "Delete
files", but not for the revertable "Move to trash". And guys, please

The bug description reveals a misunderstanding of the permissions
system. File creation and deletion are operations on the _containing
directory_ and are affected by the permissions set on that directory.
You can create and delete files if you have +w on the parent directory.

Switching between netbook mode and classic mode works on my Asus Eeepc
1000H works...
... but sometimes the folder ~/.gconfd/apps/panel/ disappears. After re-
loggin the panel is reseted to the system default configuration.
Everyone who don't have such a default config ends with a deleted
panel...
Sorry, I don't have a 64 Bit environment available. I tested the above
command on 32 Bit and it works with 2.2.6-4ubuntu3. With
2.2.6-6ubuntu1~ppa0 I get exactly the same response as in comment #13.

Why is this bug marked "fixed" in ubuntu, when there's no fixed version
in the official repositories (like updates or proposed-updates)? Maybe
I'm mistaken, but I would neither regard a package in a PPA nor in a
backport archive as an official fix to a bug. As the fix is also
backported upstream to
I upgraded to the version in the ppa (2.2.6-6ubuntu1~ppa0) and still got
the -330 error. Reverted to 2.2.6-4ubuntu3 (the last version that works
on jaunty).
