Seems related, I have this same issue in Debian sid:

It happen consistently to me when the machines returns from suspend, I
login and I press the super key.
Brad, could you check if this always happens just after suspend? Just to
check if
I saw through https://extensions.gnome.org/local/ that there was some
extensions in "ERROR" state.
I removed those and it works now (at least in Debian Sid), I hope this
helps.
