This has been proved NOT to be a release/ubuntu issue. This behaviour
can de avoided setting "Synchonize locally" OFF. I also made a mistake
by selecting "auto archive" on a native outlook client!

The same stands for me as well! Earlyer I also experienced the same problem
with 8.04, but it had disappeared by time. Now I upgraded to 8.10, and this one
rose again!
My NB is a HP Compaq 6715B / Turion64-X2.

I have tried to upgrade the BIOS in the HP notebook. Once (!) after the
upgrade, the sleep/wake was succesfull, but aftre that everigtinh
returned the good old non-working state!

I do not know if this is the reason, but the wakeup state is stable
until the first change in CPU speed. If I set CPU speed to fixed
whatever, the state remains stable, but as soon as I (of any of the
dynamic CPU speed modes) changes the freq, the whole thing freezes!
Please check if possible!

This is not really an issue to me. I use 9.04 and 8 as well, there are
problems, but not really this one. Sometimes happens that I have to restart
evolution frontend, because it complains stg. unsuccesfull, and no use pressing
"Send/receive" . The backend is quite stable now.

my current pm config is:
SLEEP_MODULE="uswsusp"
HIBERNATE_MODE="shutdown"
SUSPEND_MODULES="ehci_hcd ohci_hcd uhci_hcd iwl3945 button fglrx"
If I use fixed CPU speed, there is no problem at all! The whole NB freezes at
the first change of CPU speed! It does not matter if I set it automatic (like
#11 solves the problem!

Not only gnome-shell hangs, but the whole NVIDIA video driver. I can
switch a text console (no visible output eighter), login blindly, and
kill -9 -1 for all my apps, this resets the video, and all visible
again. It happens several times a day. Very annoying...
Just after I started to use vmplayer
I can start and use everything, but after a while the hang happens.

Sometimes it does not freeses, just get fooled, so practically
impossible to use, partial client area redraws, dead and invisible task-

My screen freezes several times a day - if I am present, and use the
GUI. The machine runs fine for weeks, if no one is logged in locally on
the GUI.
Sometimes I can exit from GUI, but still no way to restart it - only the
complete system!
