Some artifacts can be seen on the GNOME wallpaper while using metacity
and a XV output.
How to reproduce this bug:
- Use a dark wallpaper
- play some move (or music with visualisation turned on) on one Desk
- Go to another desk
=> you will be able to see artifacts on the wal
Why this bug status says Fix released/fix commited whereas the last
version of the kernel I got form the update (2.6.31-19.56) does not
provide the fix ???

I got the same problem on my Acer travelmate laptop, but in my case the
problem seems to come from the acpi driver of the kernel.

I experienced some problems after my Upgrade from Jaunty to Karmic on my
laptop.
Right after the upgrade, my computer rebooted and launched the kernel
2.6.31-15-generic with no problems.
But I could not use my keyboard at the gdm login screen.

Some news here.
When I boot with the kernel 2.6.31-15-generic with acpi=off, my computer is
very slow and gnome-power-manager seems to have some problems.
I tried to restart and disabling gnome-power-manager, but the startup
process seems slower.
