I agree with you that Alt+click is just a workaround, not a solution, but at
least for me it's a really effective workaround.
I almost never bother with window borders or grippies, because I got so used to

Hi,
something -did- change in the repository. 3 days ago a branch was merged, which
doesn't include autotools build system (i guess this change relates to current
compiz development)
So you are no longer able to compile this easily, with last git
snapshot.
You've got 2 options left:
Hi everyone,
i'm currently working on a patch to address this. It's rough and unfinished
(doesn't properly detect in real time when the gconf value is changed) but it
works.

Done, it's working fine for me. It reads the
/apps/metacity/general/resize_with_right_button gconf value and sets mouse
buttons for resize / window menu accordingly
Additionally, changes in ccsm will be written to the gconf value: For example,
you get into the "resize" plugin, and change the ini

AFAIK a duplicate of this bug, but i'm not sure which one should be

for the meantime i'm "crossposting"
Will welcome feedback on patch testing.

@david.hilton.p I've made a patch for the gconf integration backend, so
that it honours the resize_with_right_button gconf key. This solves some
aspects of this bug. Feel free to check it out and give feedback - if it
works, you'll be helping in the process of getting it included upstream

Please tell me if I can help with debug information.

This problem is as you wrote in the description closely related to, but not the
same as bug #415023, rather it is a duplicate of bug #453812 which is linked to
the appropriate upstream bug.

Just for reference, the problem here is that the MSI Wind UXXX and its
OEM variants generate keypress events in hardware each time the
brightness level is changed which is a source of trouble (e.g. see bug
#415023). Since the Intel Xorg driver sets the brightness to 0 before
turning the screen off
I installed the 2.6.34 kernel and I could not reproduce the issue.
